About
David Goodwin is the President of the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS). Raised on an Idaho farm, he earned an MBA and worked for 13 years in marketing and new product development for a Fortune 500 technology company, including international travel, before entering education. He helped found The Ambrose School in Meridian/Boise, ID, serving as headmaster from 2003 to 2014, during which he grew enrollment from a small struggling school to over 500 students and oversaw construction of its current facility. Since approximately 2015, he has been the editor of The Classical Difference magazine. He serves on the Board of Academic Advisors for the Classic Learning Test (CLT) and as an advisor for the FOX News documentary The Miseducation of America, the National Association of Scholars' American Birthright standards, and the Oklahoma Department of Education. A frequent speaker and op-ed contributor (e.g., The Federalist, Washington Times on school choice, 2025), he is the author of Discover Classical Christian Education (over 150,000 copies sold) and co-author, with Pete Hegseth, of the #1 New York Times bestseller Battle for the American Mind (2022) and the forthcoming Forging the American Mind (2026). He lives in the Boise, Idaho area with his wife, Stormy Goodwin (Web and Publications Manager at ACCS), and they have three adult children, one of whom teaches at a classical Christian school. Goodwin has been featured on the Charlie Kirk Show (2023, 2025), Eric Metaxas Show, Anchored podcast, Forbes (2025 on the $10B rise of classical Christian education), a Reagan Library event (C-SPAN), and more.
