David Chang (Korean: 장석호; Chang Seok-ho) is the founder of the Momofuku group. Born on August 5, 1977, in Vienna, Virginia, USA, to Korean immigrant parents Joseph P. Chang and Woo Chung Hi 'Sherri' Chang, who owned a golfing goods warehouse and two restaurants, he grew up in Arlington, Virginia, with two older brothers and one sister. Chang attended the International Culinary Center and pursued a career in the food industry, gaining fame through his innovative culinary style influenced by hip-hop culture. In 2017, he married Grace Seo Chang. He rose to prominence as a celebrity chef, restaurateur, author, podcaster, and television personality. His Momofuku Ko restaurant received two Michelin stars in 2009, and he has been recognized by Time Magazine as one of the world's 100 Most Influential People. He has appeared in shows like 'Ugly Delicious' and 'Billions,' and hosts a podcast. Chang is known for his bold flavors and has expanded his influence through media and writing.
