Craig Unger is an investigative journalist and Vanity Fair contributing editor. He graduated from Harvard University, where he began his journalism career as an undergraduate editor of The Harvard Crimson. In 1976, he relocated to France to serve as co-owner and editor of The Paris Metro, a prominent English-language biweekly magazine in Paris. He later contributed to publications such as the Boston Phoenix as a contributing editor, New York magazine, and held key editorial roles including deputy editor of The New York Observer and editor-in-chief of Boston magazine. Since 1985, he has worked as a full-time freelance journalist. Unger has contributed feature articles on political dynasties and influence networks to The New Yorker, Esquire, and Vanity Fair, covering topics including the Romney family, election technology company Hart InterCivic, and Donald Trump's connections to the Russian mafia, Vladimir Putin, and allegations that the former president is a Russian asset. His authorship extends to books like 'House of Bush, House of Saud,' which investigated Ledeen's connections to the Niger forgeries and Iraq War intelligence manipulation, and 'House of Trump, House of Putin,' expanding on his investigative work into U.S.-Russia ties and political intelligence operations.
