About
The Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI) is a United States-based conservative 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2017 by former U.S. Senator Jim DeMint and former Congressman Mark Meadows. It serves as a training and policy organization dedicated to building conservative infrastructure in government by providing professional development, training, networking, policy education, leadership development, and support for conservative lawmakers, staffers, elected officials, and movement leaders. CPI aims to equip conservatives with the tools, tactics, resources, and strategies needed to advance conservative policy solutions in Washington, D.C., focusing on areas such as House and Senate procedures, floor strategy, communications, federal budget, economics, and foreign policy. The organization collaborates with other conservative think tanks like The Heritage Foundation and emphasizes building a permanent infrastructure for the conservative movement, including networking opportunities and practical skills to counter institutional pressures. Under the leadership of Chairman Jim DeMint and Senior Partner Mark Meadows, with President Edward Corrigan since 2017, CPI has grown significantly, expanding sixfold since its founding to become a central hub of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement. It has raised substantial funding (reportedly $45 million), developed a physical network including nine Capitol Hill buildings and a $7 million rural campus called 'Patriots’ Row,' trains over 500 staffers annually, hosts more than 2,000 events per year, and has bolstered prominent conservative figures. Described as the 'nerve center' of MAGA politics, CPI integrates movement activism, media, and congressional operations to shape conservative narratives and governance. While praised by conservatives for uniting the movement, it has faced criticism as a controversial entity intertwined with GOP political organizations and amplifying far-right ideologies. CPI does not engage in lobbying or partisan campaign activities but focuses on promoting conservative principles through education and support.
