Christine Paule Pelosi (born May 5, 1966) is an American attorney, author, and prominent Democratic Party activist and strategist from California. She is the daughter of former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and businessman Paul Pelosi, and the sister of documentary filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi. Pelosi earned a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University's Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service and a Juris Doctor from the University of California Hastings College of the Law (now UC Law San Francisco). Her legal career began with public interest work as Deputy City Attorney for Construction and Trial Teams and Assistant District Attorney in the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit for the City of San Francisco. Her political involvement spans decades, including serving as executive director (1998–1999) and Platform Chair (1995–2008) of the California Democratic Party, and as Chair of the California Democratic Party Women's Caucus from 2011 to 2021. Nationally, she worked as Special Counsel at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development during the Clinton/Gore Administration (1999–2001) and as Chief of Staff to U.S. Representative John F. Tierney (2001–2005). She has also been a board member and Interim Executive Director of the Young Democrats of America (2011) and was elected five times to the Democratic National Committee, serving as a superdelegate. An advocate for women's rights, environmental issues, and progressive policies, Pelosi is the author of several books and continues to influence Democratic strategies. As of recent reports, she is running for the California State Senate.
