Catherine Templeton is an American attorney and political figure from South Carolina, born on December 7, 1970, in the Midlands region and raised in Lexington, South Carolina. She graduated from Irmo High School in 1989. Templeton served in the cabinet of Governor Nikki Haley, first as Director of the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (starting January 13, 2011) and later as Director of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). In the private sector, she was President of US Brick. A conservative Republican, she ran for the Republican nomination for governor of South Carolina in 2018 and has more recently announced her candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives, emphasizing her experience in government and business.
