Cass Robert Sunstein, born September 21, 1954, in Salem, Massachusetts, is an American legal scholar renowned for his work in constitutional law, administrative law, environmental law, and behavioral economics. A prolific author, he co-authored the influential 'Nudge' (2008) with Richard Thaler and wrote the New York Times bestseller 'The World According to Star Wars' (2016). Sunstein earned an A.B. magna cum laude from Harvard University in 1975 and a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1978, where he served as executive editor of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review. He has held prominent academic positions, including Karl N. Llewellyn Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago Law School and currently the Robert Walmsley University Professor at Harvard University. He founded and directs the Program on Behavioral Economics and Public Policy at Harvard Law School. His career spans roles as a jurist, political scientist, university teacher, economist, and lawyer, including serving as Former Administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs.
