About
Case 2000, also known as the Netanyahu-Mozes affair or part of the Publisher's Trial, is a criminal corruption case against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Yedioth Ahronoth publisher Arnon Mozes. It centers on allegations of fraud, breach of trust, and bribery involving a suspected quid pro quo deal where Netanyahu allegedly agreed to promote legislation weakening the rival newspaper Israel Hayom (owned by a Sheldon Adelson supporter) in exchange for more favorable coverage from Yedioth Ahronoth. The case is one of three main cases (alongside 1000 and 4000) in the Trial of Benjamin Netanyahu, which began in 2020 following police investigations by the National Fraud Investigation Unit.
