Callista Louise Gingrich (née Bisek), born March 4, 1966, is an American diplomat, businesswoman, author, documentary film producer, and former congressional staffer. She served as the U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See from 2019 to 2021 and currently holds the position of U.S. Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein. She is the third wife of former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich, with whom she has collaborated extensively on political, historical, media, and production projects, co-authoring several books on American history, religion, and public policy, and producing historical documentaries such as 'A City Upon a Hill: The Spirit of American Exceptionalism' (2011) and 'America at Risk.' A music enthusiast from a young age, Gingrich graduated cum laude from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, in 1988 with a degree in music, where she was a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda honor society. She began her career in Washington, D.C., as a legislative aide in the office of Republican Congressman Steve Gunderson of Wisconsin and later advanced to become the chief clerk of the House Committee on Agriculture, overseeing hearings on critical issues including biotechnology, bioterrorism, conservation, nutrition, rural development, trade, and welfare reform. Throughout her career, she has maintained a low public profile compared to her husband but has been integral to their joint ventures in media and publishing.
