About
The Beth and David Geduld Program on Arab Politics is a research program under The Washington Institute for Near East Policy, originally funded by Beth and David Geduld. It focuses on Arab governance and politics, with emphasis on issues in Jordan, Lebanon, Hezbollah, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, and Gulf politics. The program produced op-eds, PolicyWatches, journal articles, and monographs, including Beyond Islamists and Autocrats: Prospects for Political Reform Post Arab Spring (2017), No Good Outcome: How Israel Could be Drawn into the Syrian Conflict (2013), Egypt’s Enduring Challenges (2011), Dancing with Saddam: The Strategic Tango of Jordanian-Iraqi Relations (2003), and Palestinian Democracy and Governance: An Appraisal of the Legislative Council (2001). It was active at least from 2006 to 2021 and appears to have been succeeded by the Linda and Tony Rubin Program on Arab Politics.
