About
Andrea Levin is an American journalist and the co-founder and former Executive Director and President of CAMERA (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America), an organization dedicated to monitoring and challenging perceived anti-Israel bias in media coverage. She co-founded the Boston chapter with Jacobs in 1988 and served in leadership roles for 36 years, including as executive director since 1986, during which the organization expanded from a small local group to a major international body with over 65,000 members and offices in several U.S. cities and Israel. Levin is known as CAMERA's public face for over three decades, aggressively monitoring major media outlets such as NPR, the New York Times, and the BBC, often initiating boycotts and public campaigns to prompt corrections. Her career began in education and policy analysis, and she previously worked as a producer for public television. In 2025, she was reportedly fired from her position as Executive Director, marking a significant leadership transition; she was succeeded as CEO while retaining the title of executive director emerita. Beyond CAMERA, Levin has been a prolific columnist for publications including the Jerusalem Post and Commentary, and in 2002, she was named one of America's most influential Jewish citizens by the Jewish Daily Forward.
