About
Amira Ahronoviz is a prominent Israeli leader in Jewish organizational management. She served as CEO and Director General of the Jewish Agency for Israel from January 2019 to October 2024, becoming the first woman in that role after a 30-year career with the organization. Starting in field positions, she advanced to Vice President for Strategy & Planning, Deputy Director General, and Chief Operating Officer. Under her leadership, the agency addressed major crises including the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine war, increased Ethiopian aliyah, and the Swords of Iron War, while expanding programs for global Jewish connection and strategic initiatives. Ahronoviz holds an M.A. in Business Management and graduated in 2015 from Jerusalem's Mandel School for Educational Leadership following a two-year fellowship, with research on social impact investing. She founded SparkIL, a digital peer-to-peer lending platform that raised over $10 million in interest-free loans for marginalized Israeli businesses. As a founding member of Keshet Mazkeret Batya, an educational community integrating religious and secular families through a K-12 system, she resides in Mazkeret Batya, Israel, with three children. Since leaving the Jewish Agency, she has become Founding Director of Compass Trusts (Public Trusteeship Subsidiary) at Keshet Donor-Advised Fund, chairs the board of Voice of the People (a presidential initiative), serves on the Pincus Fund for Jewish Education board, and joined the Mandel Foundation Board of Trustees in March 2025.
