About
Alfredo Rodriguez served as Michael Jackson's house manager at the singer's residence in the early 1990s. During his tenure, he maintained a three-ring binder with detailed notes on conversations and events related to the 1993 child sexual abuse allegations against Jackson by Jordan Chandler, including descriptions of Jackson's genitalia and other sensitive details purportedly matching the boy's description to authorities. The notebook was compiled from information Rodriguez gathered while employed by Jackson. In July 2009, amid preparations for Jackson's upcoming criminal trial on similar charges, Rodriguez attempted to sell the binder to tabloid media outlets, soliciting offers up to $1 million from TMZ and others. He was arrested on July 31, 2009, by the Los Angeles Police Department and charged with attempted extortion by a public officer, as the material was considered relevant to the ongoing prosecution. On October 2, 2009, Rodriguez pleaded no contest to one felony count of attempted extortion, receiving a four-year prison sentence; he served approximately one year due to credit for time served and good behavior before release in 2010. The notebook's contents were ruled inadmissible in Jackson's trial.
